Phoenix-Talent Little League Divisions


T-Ball Boys and Girls
Age: Phoenix-Talent Little League Tee Ball Baseball is for boys AND girls 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding.

Philosophy: In Tee Ball, players hit a ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee Ball are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 20 players. No live pitching is permitted in this division.

Rookie Baseball Boys And Girls
Age: 6 to 8, Boys and Girls

Philosophy: Rookie League is a machine /coach pitched league.  There are no scorekeepers or umpires in this league.  Managers attempt to instruct players on how to throw, catch, hit, and on the rules of baseball.  Rosters may be composed of up to 12 players.

Minors Baseball Boys And Girls
Age: 7 to 11, Boys and Girls


Philosophy: The minor league may be players ages 7-11 but, in Phoenix and Talent, generally fall between the ages of 8 and 10. Although some league’s around the nation devise their divisions by age only whereas, in Phoenix and Talent, players are placed in a division based on their abilities. This is a player pitch Divisions.  Rosters may be composed of between 12 and 15 players. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.  There are umpires and scorekeepers in this division and a tournament at the end of the season with a championship game.

Majors Baseball Boys And Girls
Age: 9 to 12, Boys and Girls

Philosophy: The Major Division is for boys and girls (girls - only if enough to form a team) between the ages 9-12 but, in Phoenix and Talent, generally between 11 and 12. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. This division is competitive, using umpires and score keepers, ending with a championship game. Phoenix-Talent Little League has an option to choose a Tournament Team (or "All Stars") of 11-12-year-olds from within this division, and the team may enter the International Tournament. The culmination of the International Tournament is the Little League Baseball World Series, featuring teams from around the globe. All expenses for the teams advancing to the World Series (travel, meals and housing) are paid by Little League Baseball.
